July 23, 2024 - End of Semester Long Form Assignment

After watching this video, I felt that Japanese people are really narrow-minded and ugly. Jasmine in this video is British, but she grew up in Ishikawa Prefecture and spent her elementary, junior high, high school, university and graduate school in Japan, and she works in Japan. Jasmine says that she is Japanese at heart because she has lived in Japan since she was born. However, she was bullied just because her face and hair color were different from Japanese people, and she tried desperately to change her attitude. It is no exaggeration to say that Japanese people are made of discrimination and prejudice. Despite being treated badly, Jasmine studied Japanese hard and got better grades in Japanese than Japanese students. As a result of her efforts, Jasmine got good grades, but other students asked her very discriminatory questions, such as why she was number one. This is a mass of discrimination. Japanese people care too much. They should only think about themselves, but they criticize and hurt others even just for their appearances. I think Japanese people should have a more generous heart and show understanding towards countries and schools with people of various nationalities. I hope that discrimination and prejudice will disappear from the world.

July 16, 2024 - What is News to You?

The news worthwhile for me is that the minimum wage for part-time workers in Saitama Prefecture will rise from 937 yen to 1028 yen. Although Saitama Prefecture has a high minimum wage on average among the 47 prefectures, the minimum wage in Tokyo is 1113 yen, a difference of 176 yen. You may think that it's only 176 yen, but as the saying goes, every little bit counts, and if you work every day, it will add up to a big difference in a month. I was unhappy with the 937 yen wage at my previous part-time job, but when I saw this news, I jumped for joy. I hope that the minimum wage will continue to rise in the future and everyone will become rich.

July 9, 2024 - My Favorite Comic!

My favorite manga is "Kimi ni Todoke"  "From Me to You" which is an English title. This manga is so loved by so many people that it has been made into an anime, a movie, and a live-action film. The protagonist, high school student Sawako Kuronuma, has a gloomy appearance and is looked down upon by her classmates, but she is actually a kind, generous and gentle girl. Sawako has feelings for Shota Kazehaya, the central figure in her class, and is attracted to Shota Momo and begins dating him. I have been an avid reader of this manga since I was in elementary school, and hoped that one day I would meet a man like Shota Kazehaya and fall in love with him, but that has yet to happen.

July 2, 2024 - Tanabata!

I was very surprised to learn that Tanabata is a holiday based on an ancient Chinese legend.I was also surprised to learn that Tanabata was originally celebrated in August. My parents' wedding anniversary is on July 7th, so Tanabata has been very important to both me and my parents since I was a child.Thinking back, I haven't written any wishes on a tanzaku in the last few years. I don't think age has anything to do with making wishes, but I feel embarrassed and refrain from writing one even when I have the opportunity. I'm going to take this opportunity to make a wish this year. I hope I can save money without having to work part-time.

January 7, 2025 - Final Assignment!

I think the first video is a very useful YouTube video for foreign tourists and Japanese people traveling. I think the traditional Japanese...
